Does Your Steering Wheel Not Re-Center Itself?

   August 19th, 2011

When you’re driving down the road and make a turn, does your steering wheel stay in the position it was left? If it were working it would return to the neutral position, 12 o’clock. A problem with steering gear linkage, ball joints, or alignment can cause your steering wheel to stay in the position without naturally returning to neutral. This may not seem that bad, but can be quite troublesome. You always need to make sure you have maximum control of your RV at all times. Contact a trained RV professional to get this issue fixed.

Rear of RV Going in a Different Direction Than the Front?

   August 10th, 2011

Dog tracking is a condition where the rear alignment is not the same as the front end alignment.  This causes the RV’s back end to go a different direction than the front. This can be caused by issues with alignment, rear end thrust, body mounts, or a loose trac bar. Regular maintenance is usually enough to keep this from happening, but once the problem starts, it needs to be addressed and fixed at a trained professional’s office.

Does the steering on your RV seemed delayed?

   August 10th, 2011

This is a serious problem in your RV. This problem causes there to be little or no response when you try to turn the steering wheel of your RV. If something is wrong with the steering of your RV you should make sure to get it fixed very quickly. Delayed steering could be caused by problems with linkage, suspension, the rear axle side shaft, the steering gear, or the trac bar.

If you must drive with a problem like this, to get to an RV dealership, make sure to drive slowly and carefully to give yourself ample time to turn.
